The Works Constitution Act (Betriebsverfassungsgesetz) §27 stipulates that a works committee must be formed if the works council has more than 9 members. According to the regulations, this committee consists of the chairperson of the works council, his deputy and 3 other members.

The works committee conducts the ongoing business of the works council.

This includes the following tasks:

•     Preparation of Works Council meetings and resolutions
•     Obtaining information
•     Handling correspondence
•     Procurement of documents
•     Preparation of works meetings and departmental meetings
•     Receiving applications from employees

The Works Committee in Zeuthen meets weekly on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
